About your presenter:

Caroline Wilson (she/her) is an LCSW serving as the Clinical Director at Out of the Woods Therapy. Caroline works with adult individuals and relational systems and especially loves supporting clients in exploration of sexuality, gender, and the untangling of  societal norms or internalized expectations that often accompanies this work.

A note from practice owner, Jamie Brazell, who oversees the continuing education at our practice…

1 hour of AASECT continuing education (1 CE credits) are earned through attending and submitting the feedback form after attending. Does your licensure board accept AASECT credit? I’m not sure, but I have never once had a problem with the MFT board. That’s literally going to be my answer any time that question is asked because I cannot guarantee that your board will accept it, but I have never heard of a board that didn’t and I also know that a lot of boards won’t pre-approve CEs because they typically don’t have the resources to do that.

We record our workshops whenever possible to be used internally or to be sent to someone who had registered and was unable to attend. We tend to position the camera only on the presenter and the power point (if applicable) and not on the participants.

“Developed by a team of professionals who grew up and live in the rural South, many of whom also identify as LGBTQ+. The You Belong Here film aims to address the issue of LGBTQ+ youth suicide by highlighting the vital role that affirming allies play in promoting positive mental health and suicide prevention amongst individuals who identify within the LGBTQ+ community, specifically within the American South. Through the use of film, this campaign shares the stories of 27 individuals who identify as either a member or ally of the LGBTQ+ community within the American South. Along with these stories, the campaign also offers thorough education related to allyship, suicide prevention, and mental wellness.

Through offering viewers a diverse understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences in the South, our hope is further viewers willingness to understand, care for, and celebrate the unique stories, perseverance, and resiliency of Southern LGBTQ+ people.”
