I have been working a long time with adolescents, teens and families navigating transitions, relationship challenges and identity exploration. I have experience helping individuals process neurodivergent diagnoses, such as autism and ADHD, assisting in finding the right coping strategies and resiliency skills through creating a safe place to examine core values and beliefs. I might be a good fit for you if you are exploring any parts of your identity, having relationship challenges, wanting to explore relational or religious trauma, chronic illness, wanting help navigating a new autism or ADHD diagnosis, or have questions of being neurodivergent and who are looking for testing options.

Misty

We can talk about having Misty come to your sessions if you want some snuggles.

Some of my therapeutic modalities include person-centered, narrative, CBT, mindfulness and relational therapy. My therapeutic interventions often involve challenging limiting beliefs and exploring the impact of societal, familial and cultural influences, empowering my clients to reconstruct their self-perception authentically. I work with many forms of creatively expressing our emotional challenges through art, nature, movement, and writing. I take a strength-based approach to explore how our gifts, interests and uniqueness help us thrive. I also have opportunities to incorporate animal therapy into our session.

My professional experiences include seven years working with teens, adolescents and families in residential treatment. I also have many years of animal and equine assisted therapies to help with relationships and self-esteem. In the past, I also have been a waitress, bartender and English teacher in South Korea and I have an undergraduate degree in music education. All this has added to my passion for service and helping others feel safe and heard.
