Psychotherapist (she/her)
Indya is accepting new adult clients for individual or relational/couples therapy! Indya is seeing clients by virtual appointment only.
Hello! I’m Indya Marković, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA). My belief is simple: I am here to help you struggle less—to turn down the volume on anxiety, reduce conflict, and create more ease in your life. If you're tired of feeling 'too much,' like you're constantly fighting your own brain, or like you and your partner(s) are speaking different languages, you've found the right spot. I believe levity and warmth are essential tools in tackling tough issues. I specialize in guiding the neurospicy, the emotionally intense, and anyone struggling with the big, vital, unspoken issues—because finding relief in these areas is the most essential step toward feeling truly alive.
My Collaborative Approach
My approach is built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect. I strive to be right beside you as a collaborative guide and witness. When you bring your authentic self, I will meet you with mine, using warmth, honesty, and curiosity to create a non-judgmental space for exploration.
My work is informed by models like Attachment Theory, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We will work to understand not just what you are feeling, but how it manifests in your life, utilizing mindfulness and an appreciation for bottom-up and top-down processing to build emotional regulation and lasting insight. I also actively weave in lenses like Feminist Theory to honor the impact of societal pressures on your well-being.
Areas of Clinical Focus
Emotional Intensity & Nervous System Regulation
If you’ve been called 'too sensitive' or feel like your emotional dials are permanently set to high, I get it. I specialize in helping the emotionally gifted and the complexly wired. We’ll move past the specific labels (such as Complex Trauma, BPD, or ADHD) to understand how your unique brain impacts your life. We will equip you with the tools to manage intensity, regulate your nervous system, and move from constantly surviving your symptoms to actually thriving within your unique wiring.
Sex-Positive Therapy
I offer a shame-free, deeply sex-positive space where we can openly discuss everything from mismatched desire, navigating asexuality, managing performance anxiety, or exploring non-monogamy. My belief is that sex and intimacy are normal, healthy parts of life, and you deserve a fulfilling one. I am dedicated to helping you ditch the cultural baggage and explore your relationships as an LGBTQIA+, kinky, or erotically marginalized individual—because your pleasure and authenticity are non-negotiable.
Couples/Relationship Therapy
Relationships, in all their forms, are a passion of mine. Whether you're in a traditional couple or a polycule, dealing with a cycle of recurring arguments, navigating jealousy, or experiencing emotional distance, I provide the neutral, grounded space to slow things down. Using specialized techniques, we will uncover the hidden emotional needs beneath the conflict so you can stop fighting each other and start fighting for your shared vision of connection. We focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and increasing emotional closeness across all relational structures.
My Commitments
My practice is guided by the unwavering values of authenticity, connection, and curiosity. I am proudly committed to providing sex-positive, affirming relationship therapy, and spaces that honor LGBTQIA+, kinky, and erotically marginalized individuals and couples. Your unique identity and lived experiences are not just accepted—they are honored here.
About Me: As someone with ADHD, my favorite things to do are often the things I haven't done yet! I’ve always found it important to be able to laugh, even at serious things, and I believe that lightheartedness can be a powerful antidote to shame. When I'm not chasing new hobbies, I find joy in reading, cooking, traveling, and anything competitive (I love a good NY Times Wordle). When I need to reboot, I rely on the simple joys of puzzles, hiking with my partner and dog, and serious cuddle time.
