Ashlyn is accepting new clients for virtual individual or couples/relational therapy!
Hey friend, I’m Ashlyn! I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who works with individuals, couples, and families. Many of my clients come to me dealing with parenting concerns, communication struggles, relationship challenges, life transitions, or the effects of past trauma. My style is collaborative and client-focused — I believe therapy works best when we explore things together at your pace. I also take an intergenerational lens, helping you understand how patterns from the past might be shaping the present.
Specializations
Couples Therapy (including High Conflict)
I specialize in helping couples navigate the challenges that naturally arise in relationships- whether it’s communication breakdowns, recurring high conflict, distance or mistrust that can quietly or not so quietly grow over time. My approach to couples therapy is a neutral grounding presence during high emotional sessions where each partner will be met with an open mind and a warm space to express their concerns equally. I strive to create a safe space where both partners will leave the session feeling heard and understood. Together we’ll uncover patterns, strengthen connection, and develop tools to rebuild trust and intimacy. I believe every relationship has the potential for healing and growth, and I’m passionate about guiding couples toward a more fulfilling, balanced partnership.
Sex Positive Therapy
I offer a sex-positive, affirming space where you can openly explore intimacy, desire, and sexual well-being without fear of judgement. Many individuals and couples struggle with concerns around mismatched desire, shame, performance anxiety, or simply wanting to deepen their sexual connection. In our work together, I approach these conversations with openness, curiosity, and respect; helping you embrace your authentic self while fostering healthier communication around sex. My goal is to normalize these discussions, reduce stigma, and empower you to create a more fulfilling and confident sexual life-individually or within your relationships.
Trauma
I understand how deeply past experiences and trauma can shape the way we view ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. In therapy, I provide a safe and supportive environment to process those experiences at your own pace, using a compassionate, trauma-informed approach. Together, we can work to ease the weight of painful memories, build resilience, and create healthier patterns for the future. My focus is on helping you reclaim your sense of safety, self-worth, and empowerment so you can move forward with greater confidence and peace.
Parenting
Parenting can be both rewarding and overwhelming, and it often brings unexpected challenges that impact the whole family. Whether you’re navigating sleepless nights with a new baby, the stress of parenting a teenager, or finding yourselves caught in cycles of conflict, I provide a supportive space to process those struggles. My approach is collaborative and nonjudgemental, helping you develop practical tools to manage stress, strengthen communication, and feel more confident in your parenting journey. Together, we’ll work toward creating more harmony at home while also supporting your individual well-being as a parent.
Life Transitions
Life transitions, whether chosen or unexpected, can leave you feeling ungrounded, uncertain, or overwhelmed. From starting a new career, moving through a breakup, adjusting to parenthood, or facing changes in health or identity; I help clients navigate these pivotal moments with clarity and resilience. In therapy, we’ll explore both the challenges and opportunities these transitions bring, while building coping strategies that support balance and growth. My goal is to help you move through change with greater confidence and a stronger sense of self.
I provide a warm, inclusive space that is both LGBTQIA+ affirming and sex-positive, where conversations about intimacy, desire, and sexuality are always welcome. No matter what brings you to therapy- whether it’s healing from the past, exploring your authentic self, strengthening your couple relationship, or navigating parenting-you don’t have to face it alone. I am here to walk this path alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to your growth. My goal is to support you in building stronger connections, finding healing, and creating meaningful change in your life and relationships.
About Me
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy all that nature has to offer. I enjoy hiking, walking, or just sitting outside. I enjoy spending time with my family, whether that's curled on the couch watching a movie, having a cookout or traveling to the dirt track race. I'm a total hippie and tree hugger and I live my life as close to nature as possible. I enjoy music, mostly old school rock, and local festivals.
